Pondy Oxides and Chemicals has announced that its Board has approved the establishment of a copper recycling plant at Thervoykandigai as part of its broader strategy to expand value-added recycling operations and strengthen its focus on circular economy initiatives.
The proposed facility will have an annual production capacity of approximately 36,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LME Grade A copper cathode and will involve an estimated investment of around ₹200 crore.
According to the company, the project will be implemented in two phases, with each phase contributing 18,000 MTPA of production capacity.
The company added that the copper recycling plant is expected to be commissioned on or before December 2026.
